Keep the current owner clear.
The assigned worker stays responsible while a request is open. An offer alone never changes the roster.
FOR THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP THE CAFÉ RUNNING
Ask for help. Offer a hand. Let the manager confirm the change, with the roster and its history kept together.
Try the cover desk ↗LOCAL SQLITE PROTOTYPE / ONE LOCATION / NO PAYROLL
The assigned worker stays responsible while a request is open. An offer alone never changes the roster.
Recheck the role, shift version, voluntary offer and overlapping assignments at approval time.
Save the transfer and its history together. Each worker can acknowledge the revised roster.
THE WORKING DEMO
This demo creates four sessions you can switch between. It stores roster data in local SQLite. Session identity is unverified; the page holds all demo tokens until reload. No messages are sent to employees.
Create the demo to explore two overlapping cover requests and one volunteer.
Times below use the location timezone. A pending request leaves the current assignment in place.
Publication creates a new roster version and local unread notices.
The manager cannot invent an offer or override the no-overlap rule. No absence explanation, wage, or health details are requested.
A material edit invalidates outstanding requests and rechecks assignment overlap in the same transaction.
LESS “WHO’S COMING IN?”
Early local prototype for one location. Verified identities, production hosting, external notifications, retention and full accessibility checks remain pending. Configured rules are business preferences, not labor-law decisions or a promise of fair outcomes.
